So, I have finally got up the nerve to stop preparing and just start a web comic.
I do have a good Idea of where I want the story to go and an idea of what characters I want to create, but I don't have them all formally designed yet. So, I think that I will be doing things like model sheets, profiles and strip scripts in an "as I go" fashion when I get the time. This could also help as it allows for more impute from friends and readers on how to improve the comic while it can still be put into practice.

Yep, I got a new pet project. Now if only I can keep it fed like my cats! I have a bad tendency of loosing interest in some larger projects and they get pushed aside (usually indefinitely).

A couple of friends and I were chatting while watching the Jonah Hex movie when one mentioned how the movie brought back memories of a video game they had played together of the computer. It was one of those open world shooters based in the Wild West where you could create and play either good or evil characters. They had each created both good and outlaw characters, but the story told was just about their outlaws. They went on like two veterans who served together telling war stories. How they started out, how each of them had a different way of playing the game, and how (& why) they split up the gang & became rival gangs! They went on about the last big battle they had before their characters were taken out (which in this game meant you LOST your character & all it's data). I finally had to stop them to grab a notebook and start writing notes on their account. I tried to limit the story to a prologue about how they started, How they broke up, and their last epic battle where it all ended; while trying to include all the little nuances of how they each ran things in their gangs. The only thing is one of my friends can be quite scary on games. Because of him, the story will feature a beheading,  explosions, and the destruction of at least half of an old wild west town! Not to mention all the usual gun fire, shootouts, and robbery associated with outlaws. But their methods about running their gang, the nature of their breakup, and the way they played their final battle (practically an all out war) were good enough I felt it could be adapted into an action packed comic.

Neither of them could remember the name of the game, though. And we believe it may have since been taken down for one reason or another.

Just moved in the cats yesterday, Lucy & Buster. And besides the panic attack Buster they had in the cages getting here, all seeps to be going well. Lucy is adjusting well, though Buster prefers to hide wherever he can. Though, this morning Buster did decide to wake me up about one hour before the alarm. And I have work today. They still need their shots and new tags, but that shouldn't be a problem.

I give them a couple weeks before they completely run the place... what do you think?

Just to let people know why I haven't been on in a while. I recently moved to a new apartment. And I still need to get the internet hooked up there. (I'm writing this journal entry from a friend's house.) And untill I get it set up, it may be a while before I get the chance to get back on again.

In other news: I am now the proud owner of not one, but two cats. I got all the essentials, I just need to get them moved into the apartment. A good friend is currently taking care of them. Not sure when we'll get around to bringing them up there yet. So, this should be interesting.

So, with all these changes going on I may actually have things to write in a journal ABOUT! Lets see how this goes....

So, I was browsing DA and came across a profile with an interesting journal idea that sounds like fun. The idea is to "spread the art around" which couldn't hurt. There are only two (2) rules.

1:  For each of the 5 people answering this journal, I must put their avatar and the 1-3 deviations I like the most from their gallery on the list!

2:  If you answer, you have to do the same in your journal, putting the tagger (which, if you make a comment on this journal, would be me) on the first place.

I also decided to list why I decided to like the deviations I put on this journal page, just for fun. It's not a requirement.
Like the journal entry of the person in my 1 slot who tagged me states: "The idea of this is not to get a free feature, it is to spread art around for everyone!"
